Acupressure Source Points and their Relationship with the Temporo-Mandibular Joint
The TMJ is a key area for our posture and structure. Many different imbalances can start from an altered occlusion, like headaches, stiff shoulders, stiff neck, cervical pain, lumbar pain, knees pain, tinnitus and many others. Often the TMJ is the primary, hidden, cause of structural problems, but also digestive difficulties.
The TMJ is also a place where often we store our emotions, tensions, traumas and anxiety. Not by chance, when we sleep, and our conscious control is turned off, we can suffer of bruxism.
Though the use of acupressure points and simple muscle tests, we can identify the imbalanced TMJ muscle and balance it with:
- specific tonification or sedation points,
- Neurolymphatic or Neurovascular reflexes,
- acupressure points,
- cranial stress receptors,
- spindle cells and Origin/Insertion,
- amino acids, vitamins and minerals,
- and a technique called Proprioception Integration Technique (PIT) created by Richard Utt.
This is not just a structural class, because the TMJ is one of the places in our body where all three sides of the Triangle of Health (structural-biochemical-emotional) joins together.
This workshop is one of the very first classes that Richard Utt has created (1984) and it has been updated and expanded by Marco Rado.
